Food Near Me

Ok, how many times have you searched this exact phrase “Food Near Me” and STILL
didn’t feel inspired by what you found? Let’s start by saying this – Googling “Food Near
Me” when you’re not on vacation is not the best way to find a new secret favorite.
Maybe, just maybe it could work if you are looking for something more specific, like “fast
food near me” or “Chinese food near me” or “pizza near me”, but I think what many
people are really trying to find when they Google the phrase is something they haven’t
had before.

At this point, you’re probably thinking “Wait a second, why do I even care about a blog
entry called Food Near Me, anyway?! Besides, you’re a cookbook creator
extraordinaire, why do YOU care?!” The answer is simple. The cookbooks I design are
filled with all your favorites. But, when you just don’t feel like scrounging up what you
have around the house to make something found inside a cookbook (or not), you need
an amazing alternative. So, I dedicate this blog to finding a new favorite, one maybe
you’ll want to knock off and add to your copycat recipe collection.

Anyway, carrying on. Here’s a secret I’ve discovered in recent years when I’m bored
with food, and am tempted to Google “Food Near Me”. Instead, Google “Local Food
Blogs” instead. Food bloggers, especially local food bloggers find the best and worst of
what’s to be had in the market, NEAR YOU, and just LOVE to tell you all about the
good, the bad and the ugly. Perhaps the best part, many times they furnish menu-
worthy photographs to whet your appetite along with it.

Stick with me here to learn the top 3 reasons you should be finding those local food
bloggers instead of reading Yelp or other reviews. First and foremost, when you read a
blog entry about a local eatery, you’re going to learn something new. Did you know that
more than half of all restaurants have secret menu items? I didn’t either, I just made that
statistic up, but it got your attention, right? We ALL want to be in the know when it
comes to secret stuff, and for real though, bloggers are EXPERTS at teasing out the
secret menu items and sharing them with their fans. Ultimately, you may find a tidbit in a
blog that you didn’t know about a place perhaps you dined at once and dismissed.
Next, you want to read local food blogs because many times, they’re entertaining. Many
food bloggers have a way with content presentation that is hilarious and says just what
everyone is thinking. Whether it’s negative press or singing praises, food blogger
narratives are sometimes downright funny.

Last, bloggers are hip to all the latest trends. You may find a valuable tidbit like best
times or days to go to certain restaurants for the best deals on certain items like apps or
drinks. You may uncover rewards programs you never knew existed. Heck, you may
even find out your favorite local ball player is a regular somewhere you never thought to
eat.

Have I convinced you to Google “Local Food Blogs” now instead of “Food Near Me”? I
hope I’ve at least convinced you to try it now, if for no reason other than to try and find
those secret menu items!
